With our furry furst Newz post we haz an impawtant film to share with you... The Cat Rescuers (2018), a documentary film directed by Rob Fruchtman and Steve Lawrence
According to IMDB "Feral and abandoned cats prowl the streets of New York City in the tens of thousands. Because the City can't handle this problem, hundreds of dedicated, volunteer rescuers have come to their aid..."
The Cat Rescuers focuses on four volunteers in Brooklyn.
"With over 500,000 streets cats struggling to survive in NYC, and the city unwilling to address the problem, spirited volunteers like Sassee, Claire, Stu and Tara have come to their aid. Their beat is Brooklyn, where the problem has exploded. Combing the borough’s alleys, backyards and housing projects, they trap the cats, get them fixed and returned to their colonies, or adopted. THE CAT RESCUERS shows the skill, resilience and humor they bring to this challenging but rewarding work, and how their mission to reduce animal suffering, often at great sacrifice to themselves, has changed their lives."- The Cat Rescuers Film websiteFur more infurmation on the Cat Rescue Documentary and how you can view it in your town: http://catrescuersfilm.com/
Mewz Around the Blogosphere: Surprise Kitten Rescue
Speaking of being furry thankful fur all the caring humans who rescue us felines, on last week's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: When the Stars Align a Rescue and Adoption Happens, Brian of Brian's Home Blog shared how a furry sweet kitten was rescued! Their next door neighbor with the yappy dog Winston rang Brian's doorbell and said there was a kitten in their bushes driving their dog crazy. Brian's Dad found Kitten who was abandoned by her Mama. After a failed rescue attempt, Brian's Mom helped get Kitten into a trap where yummy (stinky) goodness waited for her. Kitten went in and started eating, trap closed. She was furry hungry! Brian's Mom hurried Kitten to vet before closing. Kitten stayed overnight and Brian's family got the mewz from the bestest vet tech ever the next day: Kitten got shots, dewormed and didn't have any bad stuff...just a respiratory infection needing antibiotics. Yay! Little Kitten needed a furry good Home... Guess who wanted to take her home? Well if you haven't checked out Brian's Home Thankful Thursday blog last week... hurry on over and find out rites meow! (MOL) Brian's Home Thankful Thursday Rescue Kitten

I can but applaud the work of everyone who works with and for the benefit of stray and feral cats, wherever they are, be it NY or next door to Brians place. Time and love and understanding is all it takes to make a world a better place, and thank God that folks are there to do these things. Small things do matter, and more than people realise.
ReplyDeletePurrs to you all, and all the Black Cats for the appreciation day.
